Kolchak Surveys Coming Soon; Status Report
over 3 years ago
– Wed, Jun 22, 2022 at 08:06:22 PM
Most of the art has been finished and, boy, do the pages it look good. We're about 75% done with the book!
I'm working on the surveys now and they should be sent to you very soon. (For newbies, the surveys are how we get your info like addresses and shirt sizes.)
Also, I'll be responding to the rest of the submissions this week. What made it tough is that most of the stories you all sent in we're really good. Unfortunately, we have only a few slots, so don't be discouraged if you get a rejection. Competition was fierce.

SHAKESPEARE UNLEASHED
My next Kickstarter, SHAKESPEARE UNLEASHED, is hitting Kickstarter very soon. The book features prose horror stories based on the Bard's plays by Joe Lansdale, Cullen Bunn, Seanan McGuire, Jonathan Maberry, Ian Doescher and many others.
The book will also have sonnets and illustrations — and there will be a few surprises you won't want to miss.
That's right — I'm unleashing the Bard of Avon with horror stories based on his plays and characters. And what an amazing lineup we have. But before we get to that, check out the cover art by J.K. Woodward, who of course also did the limited-edition Kolchak cover as well as the art for Peter David's Kolchak story.
Alas, Poor Shakespeare!

The book is coming along very well. Most of the scripts are in and being illustrated. We've also gotten a few dozen submissions for the prose stories, which we're making our way through.
We have several contributor announcements as we finalize the lineup.
-Szymon Kudranski (Spawn, The Punisher) will illustrate Steve Niles' story "The Package." Szymon did the art for Steve's A Town Called Terror and Rodney Barnes' Johnny Gatlin.
-Juan Samu (Elvira Meets Vincent Price,Black Panther, Transformers ) will illustrate a special four-page story.
- For the prose, we've accepted stories by Lisa Morton and Leverett Butts.
And, yes, submssions are still open for the prose stories.
Here's a panel by J.K. Woodward for Peter David's "The Enemy Within."
