A big thank you to the 1,738 people who backed the Kolchak Kickstarter. You all helped to make us the seven highest funded comic book anthology in Kickstarter history!
A whopping 2100+ print books were preordered through the campaign — so if anyone is looking for a job packing rewards, let me know!
The fans have spoken — and they want more Kolchak!
PROGRESS
Half of the scripts are in and the artists are working on the stories, so we're well on our way to finishing book.
We are working with BackerKit, so if you missed any add-ons, don't worry. Surveys will be sent in a few weeks.
Here are some of Colton Worley's sketches for my story "Satanic Panic '88." We'll keep updating you and giving you sneak peeks of the artwork as we finalize the project.
Open Submissions
We have officially opened to submissions. I woke up Friday morning to a dozen Kolchak stories — you folks like to keep me busy! If you’re interested in submitting a PROSE story for the deluxe hardcover, here are the guidelines https://www.jamesaquilone.com/submissions
Introducing Teen Kolchak...
– Fri, Feb 11, 2022 at 03:04:25 AM
We're so excited about this. As you may know, David Avallone has written a Kolchak story set in 1939 Coney Island, Brooklyn. It's called "The Funny Place" and features 17-year-old Carl Karel Kolchak investigating his first story as a high school reporter. Marvel artist Julius Ohta is illustrating the 14-page story — and we have a sneak peek.

You're going to love this story. Heck, I want to do an entire Teen Kolchak book now. We'll be previewing more art from the Teen Kolchak story in the next few days. Follow us on Twitter @Kolchak50.

Stretch Goal Unlocked
We hit our $85K stretch goal this week and have offically added horror legend Steve Niles to the Kolchak 50 project! That means you're getting a dozen comic stories.
Kolchak Artwork Is Coming
We have sketches and layouts for David Avallone and Julius Ohta's teen Kolchak story — and they're unbelievable. We'll be revealing some of it soon.
In the meantime, here's a warmup sketch by Tom Rogers, who's illustrating Richard C. Matheson's story in the anthology.
Talking Kolchak
David Avallone, Rodney Barnes and Nancy Collins did an awesome livestream with Leonard Sultana, chatting about — what else? — our favorite monster-slaying reporter and our Kickstarter campaign.
6 Days Left in the Campaign
We have less than a week to go. The campaign ends Thursday at 11:59 pm EST. So let's get the word out and finish with a bang.
The erotic adventures of Blackrabbit! An adults-only comic book.
Blackrabbit is an original take on the comic book genre... formatted in a new way... it is a gorgeous, erotic tale both visually and in prose. It is engaging and titillating.
A psychological martial arts thriller from fellow Staten Islander Kat Calamia...
They Call Her...The Dancer is a story that focuses on the beauty and brutality of dance and martial arts, delving into the morally gray psyche of a professional dancer and assassin.

Nancy Holder, who won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Graphic Novel last year, will write a prose story for the deluxe hardcover edition of our Kolchak anthology. Nancy is no stranger to Kolchak. She wrote the Kolchak - Green Hornet teamup for Moonstone last year. She's also written a bunch of books based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
SHARE THE KOLCHAK 50 CAMPAIGN
We're only a few hundred dollars away from officially adding a comic book story written by Steve Niles to the graphic novel. Please, keep sharing the campaign and spreading the word so we can get there.
We've added a few more Dan Brereton signed one-shot comics and we still have a few Rodney Barnes signed books left — so don't delay. They usually go fast.
And here are two other cool comic book projects to check out...

Yes, you heard right — Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Simon Dark, Batman: Gotham County Line) is going to write a story for our little graphic novel, taking the total to a whopping 12 stories. But we need to get to $85K to make that happen — so help us spread the word and share the campaign link at the bottom of this update. Steve is a huge Kolchak fan and he promises to pen a super creepy story. Let's make this happen.
More Original Art
